A “regime” is the system of government or the set of rules, it comes from the Latin, where means "to rule." Depending on the amount of power the rulers have, we distinguish several types: Totalitarianism, Autocratic and Constitutional system and Anarchy. Totalitarianism become a synonym for the absolute power and total control over the lives of citizens. It is characterised by strong central rule and no permission for individual freedom like in Soviet Union and Nazi Germany. At present North Korea, Cambodia, Cuba or Kongo are the prominent examples. In constitutional regime we have a freedom of speech and religion, whereas Anarchy can occur when a government loses its power, like in Somalia or Venezuela. A wide variety of regime types exist around the world.
